The first resin dolls that Rose of Bbflockling produced were her adorable little 1/8 size ShooHoos. Since then she has made numerous BJDs in larger sizes.
Just recently Rose returned to the ShooHoo line with new Peregrine and Peony. They are still available, but hurry! The order period closes on Thanksgiving.

Q: It has been 5 years since your first BJDs arrived, and those were the first ShooHoos. Now you have returned to the theme. Tell me about the dolls that you made back then. ( As a reminder, here is your first interview. It was great! https://bjdcollectasy.com/2014/08/03/bbflockling/)
A: Yikes…that was a long time ago! I can hardly believe it’s been that long doing BJD’s!!! Time has flown by!
There were 5 original Shoohoos, two sculpts: Beeps, Lilu, Noo and Winter, then Chickpea Rabbit also a Shoohoo.
This is the original Shoohoo Story that inspired the BJD’s:
What should I do when I find a Shoohoo in the Garden?! …When she pulls the flowers out by the root, And breaks the flower pots! When her toys are always underfoot! While she picks all the forget-me-nots! Now, what am I to do?! …When she crawls over the seedling sprouts, Then feeds the remnants to the birds!
When I asked her to stay put and sit still, she looked confused, I don’t think she understood my words… Sigh…what am I to do.. …When the sparkle dims from her eyes and her giggles turned to a frown. When I realize she was just copying me, with chubby little hands but could only knock things down.
Well..this is what I’ll do! Make her a faerie garden from the broken pot, and weave the forget-me-nots in her hair. She can watch over the bird nest spot, while I’ll keep her happy and safe with the greatest of care! That’s what you do with a Shoohoo!
Q: So what dolls have you made up until now?
A: In 2016 Came Jemima, a 26cm Fashion Doll also inspired by an earlier figurative polymer sculpt. Jemima as a BJD is the adult version of the 7yr old figurative sculpt.
2016 Then came Winnie, a second 26cm Fashion Doll.
2017 Tuppance 36cm larger fashion doll, modeled after my daughter.
2018 the tiny 18cm Crickets arrived! Wrascal Cricket, Wren Cricket, Arabella Elf and Arabella Cricket,
2019 36cm Abrielle and new ShooHoos Peregrine and Peony.
Q: So what has changed between the old ShooHoos and the new ones?
A: The new Shoohoos are on an updated body with a new head sculpt.
The original Shoohoo was my first successful attempt at sculpting a jointed doll, after many failures! Although all the pieces (finally) worked together, they ended up looking like a little cartoon character. So, a story I had written to accompany a recent polymer child piece, by the name of ‘Shoohoo’ seemed to fit perfectly.
With the kind guidance of Liz Frost and Nefer Kane, and a gift from a family friend to pay the factory mold fee, resin BJD Shoohoos came to be!
I moved on to more realistic sculpts from there and decided to retire the Shoohoos. But over the years, collector friends often inquired if they would be back.
Last year, I happened upon a box of forgotten polymer heads. One of them really stood out! It was a face that was inspired by a grandson who ALWAYS wears a smile. It seemed to be Providential timing…the world was so full of frowns and turmoil, perhaps a gentle, smiling Shoohoo might be the just the kind of doll we needed. So I figured it was time to redo the Shoohoo…Peregrine & Peony are the end result.
Q: What do we have to look forward to for future doll releases?
A: New dolls…YES!
The original 7-year-old Jemima will be added to the Cricket line.
And a loveable GRUMPY Shoohoo that Peony and Peregrine make it their mission to cheer up!
