A crafty little creature created by Nympheas Dolls this year is now being offered in a limited edition version of 10.

French doll artist Sophie (k6) has created cute girls, fantasy creatures, and a caricature of a chonky cat, but Aristote is sculpted in a natural style. He has a complicated joint system that allows him to take many realistic poses. I asked the artist about her inspiration for her little fox. She replied, ” I like to imagine people that live in a magic forest with nature spirits like Tit’ Herbe or Tit’ Fleur and the fairies…but the fox naturally IS in this enchanted word like Fanny the Deer, they are like the guardians of the natural balance! The Fox has a philosopher’s name, Aristote, who wrote about contemplation.”
The first version of Sophie’s Aristote was cast in warm tan. The artist’s version was painted as a classic red fox. The new version of the doll is cast in white resin.
I have a tan Aristote. He is not painted yet, but I took some photos to show off some of his posing and his joints. His ears are attached with magnets.
Here are a few blank phots from Sophie:
Aristote can be seen here with one of the 1/6 Pin-up girls, Kalahari. The little fox makes a good companion for her!
Finally, here are a few more photos of Aristote in all his classic red glory!
Arctic white Snow Aristote will be released on December 1st. Guests at Doll Rendez-vous may meet the artist in person.
