Q: You say on your website you are a self-taught seamstress. How did you start?
A: I was interested in sewing since childhood. I sewed handmade clothes for Barbie dolls.
I bought a sewing machine a few months before the first Dollfie. After I got my MNF Shushu, I started sewing for Dollfies.
Q: Do you sew only for BJDs or for different kinds of dolls?
A: Mostly I sew for Dollfie. I also sewed a few times for Tonner dolls.
Q: I assume you started to sew for your own dolls first? When did you begin to sell your doll clothes?
A: Yes, first I sewed for my own dolls. Then I started selling clothes because I was bored with them quickly. I had a lot of clothes, which I didn’t use. It’s hard for me to determine when it happened. Certainly quite quickly. I sewed really a lot.
Q: What inspires your fashion ideas?
A: Many things inspire me. These are different clothes, dresses from different eras, as well as flowers and animals, sometimes the pattern on the fabric, or only it’s color and structure.
Q: What dolls did you sew for first?
A: It was for my MNF Shushu. I also sewed for other dolls from measurements.
Q: What are some of the BJDs you have owned? What are your favorites?
A: I like my Shushu, Topaz, Rosettes and Serenade doll most. I also have other dolls, but I don’t sew so much for them.
Q: Do you take commissions?
A: Yes, I do take commissions.
I had a lot of orders 3-4 years earlier. I sewed a lot, both- commissions and my own ideas. Since I gave birth to a daughter, I had to give up commissions. I simply did not have the strength and time to sew. I am slowly coming back to sewing now.
Q: Have you ever had any unusual commissions? Anything especially challenging?
A: Yes, of course! 🙂 Sometimes, when I finished sewing, I wondered (after a while) how I managed to do it. Some of the clothes were difficult to sew, others very detailed. But I like challenges.
For example this dress from a game.

Or this one, which I sewed for a contest.

Here, one from my favorites, with beading embroidery.

And another hand-painted.

Q: So one last question. If someone wishes to hire you for their project, how should they do it?
A: They can PM me on Den of Angels, or write an e-mail to mio1227@gmail.com. I still use my website. I just don’t update my website, I have no time. But I’ll someday do it again. It is easier for me to put photos on Facebook.
