Rosen Lied introduced their first 39cm tall chubby Holiday’s Child doll in October 2013. Since that time, the number of new sculpts has steadily increased along with the line’s popularity.

Q: Why did you decide to introduce a new line in a somewhat unconventional size? What was the inspiration behind the line?
A: We came up with idea of Holiday’s Child because we wanted to make a doll that looks like baby and in a size that people can hold comfortably with both arms. We were aiming to create a larger version of Tuesday’s Child size, and we were inspired by antique dolls as well.
Q: Why did you choose the name “Holiday’s Child” instead of a week-day name like your other doll lines?
A: Because Holiday’s children are not our regular basic line.
Holiday’s child line was created as a limited line and was not a part of our week-day line of dolls. That is why they were named “Holiday”.
Q: Was the first sculpt Miu? How many head sculpts have been released now? Are more underway?
A: Yes, the first sculpt was Miu. We have released 15 types so far
(Miu, BonBon, Mignon, BeBe, Peanut, ShaSha, Bambi, Momo, Ribbon, PomPom, Miu reverie ver. , Peanut Reverie ver., BeBe Reverie ver., Bambi Reverie ver. and Pony), and new sculpts will be introduced continuously.
Q: Based on the growth of the Holiday’s Child line, they have been well received by collectors! Can you tell me more about the response to the line?
A: Yes, they have been well received, and we are greatly thankful. Even though Holiday’s children needs improvements, we are sincerely grateful for all the love.
Holiday’s child line looks like a completely different size compared to other dolls, but many items are compatible from other sizes. Many collectors were surprised by this, and also they were relieved at the same time!
We would like to receive any response, good or bad, about our dolls any time from our customers, so please don’t hesitate to contact Rosenlied!
Q: What other size items fit the Holiday’s Child dolls?
A: For Holiday’s children, most MSD size outfits and shoes are compatible, and also SD size (9 inch) wigs fit nicely.
Q: Will a boy-body doll be released?
A: Holiday’s children are genderless, so gender depends on the owner of the doll.
Q: Your artists have always produced lovely face-ups and costumes for Rosen Lied dolls, but many of the Holiday’s Child releases are breathtaking! Do the artists that contribute to your releases find the Holiday line to be a favorite to paint and design clothes for?
A: Yes, the Holiday line is favorite of most of our artists. They find the Holiday line to be very cute, and there are no other reasons, haha!
Q: Why do you think the Holiday’s Child line has become so popular?
A: The answer is similar to above. Most of people find the Holiday line cute. They have proportions similar to our Tuesday line but they are bigger, so we think it makes them look cuter.
Q: How often are the doll sculpts re-released?
A: There is no certain period decided for re-releases. It depends on the circumstances.
Q: How often do you open a limited basic order period?
A: New limited basic order opens around every 3-4 months.
Q: Are any of the heads retired (no longer going to be released)?
A: For Holiday’s children, there are no heads that are retired yet.
Q: Do you have any plans to introduce any more doll lines in the future?
A: Yes, we are preparing new lines but have no exact release schedule yet.
