~Doll Leaves~

Doll Leaves is a new Chinese company.  They initially released two lines of dolls, a 1/3 size boy line, and a 16 cm tiny character doll line.  The character dolls have become very popular, and the company has recently added another small doll line of 20 cm dolls. The doll Shop Doll Peddlar currently has a selection of Doll Leaves tiny dolls at the National Doll Festival in Chicago which is running until Wednesday, July 22.  Doll Peddlar will also have the dolls available at BJDC in Austin August 5-7. A new 60 cm doll was just released by the company, an elf named Xavor. More doll releases are planned for this summer. A Doll Leaves representative corresponded with BJDcollectasy about their company and their future plans.

Q: Could you tell me a little bit about your company?
A: DOLL LEAVES is a brand of Unique Sky Anime Culture Communication Co.,Ltd.  We are a Hong Kong company, located in Shenzhen.

Q: When did you open?
A: We start DOLL LEAVES officially from April 2010. But our team began to plan the dolls one year ago.

Q: What is the significance of your name?
A: You can see our logo is a maple leaf image. In China, maple leaf carries on the deep feeling of recalling beautiful dreams.
Like Toy story3 says, “My toys, my memory, my childhood, my dream, and my love. Love your toys, love your life.”
That is exactly what we are doing. We hope Doll Leaves will be your maple leaves and make your doll dreams come true. Beautiful dolls are always marked a high price nowadays. That makes a lot of us lose chances to get close to their dream dolls. We dedicate to design more and more beautiful and lovely dolls with a reasonable retail price and hope every doll lover (not only BJD lover) will have a DOLL LEAVES BJD on hand.

Q: Can you tell me about the designers of your dolls?
A: Our designers are all doll lovers. The most experienced designer has been being in doll area for almost ten years. They are in different teams: 20cm team, 16cm team and other. Company provides them good design space to show everybody’s thoughts and plans. Every designer’s aspiration and idea are treasure for us.

Q: Your 16 cm dolls have a lot of character in the face sculpts.  Will there be more character dolls like these available in the future?
A: Yes, we will release more funny characters in the near future!

Q: I noticed that Rialia and Zae were listed as styled by KiraKira. Will KiraKira work on other Doll Leaves dolls?
A: Yes, we will work together with Kirakira a lot in the future. They are very good and famous in styling. We will keep good partnership with them in the future.

Q: Do all 20 cm dolls come with magnetic wings?  Will you offer other accessories in the future?
A: Yes, all 20 cm dolls have magnetic wings. We are working on other accessories now, and will release a lot in the near future.

Q: Will you offer other resin colors in the future?
A: Yes, we will, but the exact time is not confirmed yet.

Q: Can you give me a hint of any plans you have for releases in the near future?
A: Now we have released 16 cm and 20 cm dolls. In the future, we will still focus on the tiny dolls. We are planning to release another smaller line  in a special way.  Also, we are doing our German language website, and will be finished soon.

Q: The new line of smaller dolls, when do you hope to release them?
A: We plan to release it in August.

Q: Who is working on the new line of very tiny dolls?
A: The smaller line sculpts are from 16cm line staff. ^^
