~Happy Lunar New Year!~

Happy Lunar New Year!

The year of the rooster has begun. For fun, I decided to dress my Bunny Moco from DollPamm as a pink moon-flower goddess welcoming a new chick (made by Angell Studio) into the world. She is looking forward to spring!

Moco’s wig and outfit are hand-sewn.  Her bodice is made of wool felt and her skirt is cotton.  The staff is made of a variety of materials.  The wig is custom made from faux fur swatches.

(A review of Moco Bunny can be found HERE.)

The wig pattern I made for Moco consists of  a center panel and two sides. For fun, I decided to use two fur colors, white for the sides and pink for the center strip. The original tutorial for the custom wig project was published HERE on BJDcollectasy way back in 2010. Here are a few more photos of my wigs for Moco and Bergemann Dolls‘ Giggle. Giggle’s wig also fit Dream High Studio Mimi.  As you can see, the wigs are easily styled from sleek to spiky.

Fabrics for a little wig are cheap and easy to find.  Many places online offer free or inexpensive swatches and some sell mixed fur scraps. You don’t need much to cover the head of a 1/6 or smaller size doll.  The lengths of faux fur that are available are perfect for small dolls. If you want to purchase more fur, wigs can also be made the same way for bigger dolls too!
